Google Introduces New AI Tool to Help YouTube Users Recover Hacked Accounts
In response to the increasing number of social media hacks, Google-owned YouTube has introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool to help users recover their hacked accounts. The AI-powered chatbot, which is available through the YouTube Help Center, is designed to guide users through the process of re-securing their login and recovering their accounts.
The new AI support assistant is currently available only in English and for a limited number of users, with plans for broader availability in the near future. Users who are eligible can access the tool by selecting the “chat with our hacked channel assistant” option in the YouTube Help Center. The chatbot will then ask a series of questions to help secure the user’s Google login and reverse any unauthorized changes made to their channel.
“Google has launched a new AI-powered chatbot designed to assist YouTube users in recovering their hacked accounts. This AI tool will guide users through the process of re-securing their login and undoing any changes made by hackers, streamlining the account recovery process.”
This tool aims to simplify and expedite the recovery process, which can be especially challenging for content creators who rely on their channels for income. Hacked YouTube accounts have become a common target for cybercriminals, who often use them to spread malware, launch phishing attacks, or post indecent content.
Google has emphasized the importance of safeguarding accounts by avoiding sharing login credentials, not downloading files from untrusted sources, and regularly updating security settings. For those who still encounter issues, Google has provided additional support through @TeamYouTube on X (formerly Twitter), where users can seek further assistance.
This move by Google is seen as a significant step in addressing the growing concern over the security of social media accounts, offering users a more robust solution to protect their digital presence.
